En 1988 Fender creou a chamada Eric Clapton Stratocaster. Desde aquí Fender creou diversos modelos adicados a artistas como: Rory Gallagher, Mark Knopfler, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan o Buddy Guy.
Clapton también foi honrado cunha serie de guitarras acústicas fabricadas por C.F. Martin & Co. A Martin 1939 000-42 que usou para o seu álbum acústico Unplugged foi vendida en subasta por 791.500 dólares. Hoxe en día usa unha Martin 000-ECHF.
